How to Replace the Headlight Bulb in Subaru Forester:
Check out the car’s manual to see which bulb size to buy for your vehicle. To change the bulb, follow these steps
Use the hood release near the driver dash and the latch under the Subaru symbol to pop the hood.
Locate the side with the faulty bulb and move towards it. The goal is to find the headlight assembly, which is right at the backside of the headlight. If you want to change the bulb on the passenger side, you can directly access the headlight assembly but if you want to change the bulb on the driver’s side, you will have to remove the plastic cover before reaching the assembly.
After reaching the assembly, you have to remove the dust cover by rotating it counter-clockwise. After opening the assembly, you should first disconnect the power cables and then try to push the release tab at the bulb’s base.
After releasing the tab, turn the bulb counter-clockwise to free it and then pull it out.
Place the new bulb inside, make sure not to touch the bulb’s glass part, and turn clockwise to lock it.
Connect the harness and close the dust cover.

The Process of 2014 Subaru Forester Headlight Replacement:
Start by opening the hood. To replace the headlight assembly, we will have to remove the bumper. So get under the vehicle or lift the front part up and remove all the pop clips holding the bumper at the bottom.
If your car is equipped with fog lights, you should unplug the connectors.
Remove another pop clip present in the fender well. Do this on the other side as well. This winds up our work in the bottom area.
Now move to the top side of the bumper/grill and remove all the pop clips. After removing the clips, carefully pull the bumper outwards and unmount it.
Now we have access to the headlight assembly so you should unplug all the harnesses connected at the backside of the headlight.
You will find a pair of bolt and pop clips on the top right, top left, and bottom of the headlight bracket. Remove all of them to remove the bracket and pull the headlight housing to remove it.
Connect the harnesses to the new headlight assembly and mount them back. Put all the components back carefully and lock them in the same sequence we removed them. The job is done!
