Record the bulb number, voltage, wattage, and any length measurement. Also inspect the base: a wedge bulb pushes into a socket, while a festoon bulb is held between two spring-loaded contacts. If the lamp is an LED module, look for a part number on the housing instead of a bulb number.

Measure a festoon bulb from end to end and compare the diameter and terminal style. For wedge bulbs, compare the base shape and contact position, not just the glass size. Photographs can help, but they should support—not replace—manual or catalog verification. If the replacement listing says it fits multiple bulb families, confirm that it explicitly includes your vehicle and glove box position.

Replacement Tips and Upgrade Considerations
