This Mazda 6 headlight bulb replacement guide provides general guidance that will equip you with the basics.  Though we provide vital tips without any warranty, you can rely on it. Information is power, and with it, you won’t make unnecessary mistakes.

For you to avoid making these mistakes, don’t just stop at reading this guide.  Ensure you verify your own bulb voltage usage, bulb wattage, socket size, and bulb sizes before giving out your money to your vendor. Another thing you should not forget to confirm early enough is the headlight bulb type. Have the specs of the products you want at your fingertips, and you’ll be safer.

    Aftermarket Light Bulbs: Upgrades

Customize your Mazda 6 with the high-quality lighting products that not only complements its look but also enhances your security. Choose the lights that meet the highest quality standards and operate at their optimum rates under the worst weather conditions. You don’t want the fog light that can’t serve you when the weather is unbearable.

Some of the great products that you can buy online are halogen lamps and LED lamps. You can also get a Xenon HID headlight light bulbs conversion kit and others. Read the user manuals on any of the items you buy, and you’ll be able to install the bulb lights alone within a few hours. Most of them are self-explanatory.

Once you have bought the perfect low beam or high beam light bulb, you may hire an expert to install it if you have no time. But you don’t have to. Here are straight-forward tips you can follow and save lots of your money.

TIP ONE: CONSIDER BUYING A HID LIGHT BULB CONVERSION KIT

You may want to install a Xenon HID headlight light bulbs conversion kit. They’re more expensive than ordinary halogen and LED lamps, but they’re worth the benefits for your money’s worth. The Xenon lamp gives you an instant bright beam without warming up time if you have a lot of car lights on at night. When I started using this type of bulb, it changed my life in terms of visibility while driving on dark routes.

TIP TWO: INSTALL THE LIGHT BULBS IN AN ORDER

If you don’t have any tools handy when doing some major repairs in your vehicle, always remember the old adage: “measure twice, cut once.” The same theory goes for installing light bulbs. You should always install them in an order so you don’t have to uninstall and reinstall them again.

How To Choose Perfect Headlight Bulb For Your Vehicle?

Buying a light bulb is a little more complicated than it used to be. You can’t just pick up a similar watt bulb and expect it will match the other bulbs in the room, or even work in your fixture. So before you purchase your next bulb, you should arm yourself with these five facts.

    1. Not all light bulbs are created equal.

Just because a bulb is the same wattage as another doesn’t mean it will produce the same level of light. A 60-watt incandescent bulb, for example, will produce about 830 lumens of light, while a CFL of the same wattage will only produce about 450 lumens. So be sure to check the lumen output before you buy.

    2. Some bulbs are better for certain tasks than others.

If you’re looking for a bright light to read by, then you’ll want to choose a bulb with a high lumen output. But if you’re just looking for general ambient lighting, then a lower-lumen bulb is fine.

    3. Watt and lumens aren’t the only numbers to look for when you’re buying a bulb.

The color of your light is also important, and while not all bulbs list it on the packaging, many do — including CFLs and LEDs — so be sure to check. Incandescent lights are available in two varieties: soft white (2,700 Kelvin) and daylight (4,100 Kelvin), which offers a bluer tint that some people find more pleasing than yellow-toned incandescents. Fluorescent bulbs come with color temperatures ranging from 2,700K to 6,500K. While higher temperature colors appear brighter and cooler than lower temperature colors — ice versus lava — they can be harsh on your eyes. LEDs come in a variety of colors, but the most common are warm white (2,700 Kelvin) and cool white (4,000 Kelvin).

    4. Not all light fixtures are compatible with CFLs and LEDs.

Some fixtures, usually older ones, require a special type of bulb that has a built-in converter called a ballast. If you’re not sure whether your fixture can use CFLs or LEDs, just check the packaging or contact the manufacturer to be sure.

    5. You don’t have to replace all your bulbs at once.

If you’re not quite ready to make the switch to CFLs or LEDs, you don’t have to. You can gradually replace your bulbs over time, or even replace just one at a time. But remember that not all bulbs are interchangeable, so be sure to check the lumen output and the type of bulb required for your fixture before you buy.

    Installation

    1. Remove the low beam bulb

    • Turn steering wheel in the opposite direction of the side with a fault (Create more working room)
    • Spry up the center part of the fasteners (Use pop rivet removal tool or flathead screwdriver)
    • Spry out each fastener’s base
    • Pull back plastic wheel well liner
    • Press the tab on the electronic connector
    • Slide the connector straight off the old bulb
    • Rotate low beam bulb ¼ turn counterclockwise
    • Pull the bulb out of the socket

    2. Insert the new bulb

    • Don’t touch the halogen lamps’ glass
    • Wipe clean using a towel with a little alcohol
    • Insert your new bulb into the socket
    • Rotate base of the bulb ¼ turn clockwise
    • Push the power plug until it clicks in the right place
