The second-generation Jeep Liberty has been manufactured from 2008 to 2012. After this, the newer facelifts were introduced with different headlight assembly panels.

1. Before starting any mechanical or electrical work on your vehicle, there’s one thing you need to take care of: the tools you might require. For the Jeep Liberty headlight assembly replacement, a flathead screwdriver will be more than enough.
2. The whole headlight assembly is divided into three major parts. The low-beam bulb, the high-beam bulb, and the indicator bulbs. To access the main headlight assembly panel, open the car’s hood and look for the green-colored power inlet. Remove the power inlet, and you are good to go to the next steps.

3. The bulbs generally used in the headlight compartments of the Jeep Liberty are dual filament in nature. In simple words, the bulb can act as a replacement for both high and low beam bulbs.

4. Once the green-colored power inlet is out, you can safely work with bulb replacement without damaging the wiring of the electrical network of the headlight assembly. Just rotate the bulb grip ¼ counterclockwise and pull it straight out.

5. Remember, you might feel that the green power inlet of the headlight is not coming out that easily. Don’t try to exert excessive force to pull it out. The green-colored will be held in place using a red lock tab. Pry the lock tab with the help of a flat screwdriver first.

6. In the case of the low-beam bulb, you will also be required to pull the black rubber cap before accessing the bulb compartment. To do so, use the flathead screwdriver and set the black rubber cap aside.

7. Once the dual filament bulbs are successfully replaced, the only thing left to do is replace the signal/indicator bulbs. The indicator bulbs are placed right at the opposite corners of the respective headlights. These bulbs can be quickly taken out by using a flathead screwdriver after removing a few screws.

8. Remember, the round rubber dust cap you removed earlier must be put back into its place before you start reassembling everything back. Most amateur drivers make this mistake which can eventually damage the inner compartment of the headlight.

9. In the end, don’t forget to reconnect the power input back from where it was taken off in the first place. Once the power input is back, you need to tidy up stuff as well. It will help you keep the working dynamics of the headlight intact in the long run.
