How to Remove Tree Sap From Your Car

Here I have collected a few tips for you on how to remove tree sap from car surfaces. You will note that all of these tips are aimed at removing tree sap which has a sticky consistency. This type of map is also known as “candy stains” and is not really dangerous unless it gets into your paintwork.

Here’s one easy tip for removing this type of substance from a car surface. All you need is a sponge, a bottle of hot water and some rubbing alcohol. Soak a clean cloth in hot water and then apply it to the affected area. Do not rub the cloth in excess or you will end up with scratches, which will make things worse!

Next, use a rag or a brush to clean the affected area thoroughly, being careful to avoid rubbing too hard. Rubbing hard with any sort of material could cause scratches, not to mention ruin your paintwork. Use a toothbrush or Q-tip to do this job gently but thoroughly. Rinse this area well, using warm water and a mild detergent. Then apply the rubbing alcohol, letting it stand for a few minutes before wiping it down with a clean cloth.

Here’s a trick for removing tree sap if you’re worried about causing damage to your paintwork. If you find that your car’s window is really foggy when you put it up, then putting a razor blade straight up against the window will cut through the haze. It will do so without inflicting any damage, even if the blades are dull. To do this trick, all you need is a small blade, not much more than an insurance card. Begin by shaving a very thin line along the inside edge, going gradually towards the top of the window until the sap flows into the crevices.

If this method doesn’t work, you can try using a product called rubbing compound. This works by giving your paint a rough cleaning, similar to what you’d get when rubbing concrete or metal. Rubbing compound is most commonly used on cars to remove tree sap, though it is also used on windows to remove stains.

A third alternative that might help you remove tree sap from your car is to use a car wash machine. One of these machines has a special tank that sprays hot water at high pressure. This can clean deeply between the layers of wax, removing the tree sap easily. You can use this method if you have lots of time, or if you’re afraid that the car wash is going to damage your paintwork. Just make sure you’ve removed as much as possible with any of the previous methods.
