Step by Step Guide to Replace the Faulty Headlight Bulbs in 2013 Ford Focus:
Replacing bulbs in 2013 Ford Focus is very easy. With just a few tools, you can replace the lamp quickly. Find out the exact size of bulbs from the car manual before buying. These are the steps you should follow when replacing the bulbs.
Tools Required to Upgrade or Replace the Bulbs in the Ford Focus Headlight:
- 10 mm socket
- Socket extension
- Ratchet
- Philips or flathead screwdriver
- T20 or T15 star bit
- E7 Torx bit
The Process of Bulb Replacement:
Pull the handbrake and turn the engine off. Wait for the engine to cool down before moving to the next step.
Open the hood and move towards the headlight you want to change first. The interesting thing here you will see is that the headlight is readily available, and you do not need to remove a huge number of bolts and clips, nor do you have to remove the grill like many other vehicles.
The headlight is held in place with the help of 2 bolts, one on the top left side of the headlight and one on the left side. Remove these 2 bolts with the help of a screwdriver.
After removing the bolts, you can pull the whole assembly out. You can see the harnesses connected to low beam and high beam light at the back of the assembly. Unplug these wires before removing the assembly.
Now, if you want to replace the low beam or high beam, you can remove the dust covers at the back of the assembly and turn the bulb counterclockwise after unplugging the connecting cable. With this, you can pull the old bulb out and replace it with a new one.
And if you want to replace the whole assembly, all you need is to remove the old housing, connect the harnesses to the new assembly, and put it back in its place.
This is all you need to do if you want to replace the 2013 Ford Focus headlight assembly.
