Step by Step Process of Headlight Assembly Upgrade

Even if this is your first time, there is no need to worry because this is a very straightforward process where you can replace the headlight in a few steps, and there is no need to remove the front grill or bumper.

Start by popping the hood and securing it in place. The first step in the replacement process will be removing the plastic cover at the backside of the grill. You can remove the cover by undoing 3 clips holding the cover in place with your hand.

After removing the plastic cover, you will get access to the back of the headlight assembly. You will find that the headlight housing is held in place by two metal tabs.

Under normal conditions, these tabs are very easy to remove with your hand, but if they are rusted, you should use the screwdriver or pliers to lift and undo them. After removing the tabs, you can now pull the headlight assembly out.

When you take the assembly out, you will notice two harnesses connected to the headlight powering the bulbs. If you want to replace the whole assembly, then disconnect the wires. But if you only want to replace the bulbs then, remove the bulbs by turning the socket counterclockwise and placing new bulbs in the assembly.

In case of complete assembly replacement, after disconnecting the harnesses, place the new lens in the housing and connect the power cables to it. Set the adjustors in the new assembly instead of the old one.

Put everything back in place in reverse to complete the installation.
