The Acura TSX was produced and sold between the years 2003 and 2014. It was a compact sedan meant to serve the executive market. The car featured automatic HID headlights and fog lights for its last model. These came as standard on both the TSX and TSX Sport Wagon. The Sport Wagon was produced in 2010 only.

The vehicle also featured a moonroof and was available with either front-wheel drive or four-wheel drive (AWD). All TSXs sold were 5-door hatchbacks; there was no 4-door sedan model in this line. The latter distinction earned the car the nickname “the baby TL” upon its debut in 2003.

Under the hood, it came with one of two engines: a 2.4L inline 4 gasoline engine (200 hp) or a 2.3L inline 4 diesel engine (150 hp). The latter has significantly more torque than the former at 243 lb-ft rather than 205 lb-ft, which you can feel when accelerating.

The TSX was always a popular car, but it’s been discontinued in the U.S. market as of 2014. If you can find one on the used market, it’s still a great choice for an executive sedan.

    Bulb type used

The 2004 – 2008 Acura TSX utilized the H1 bulb for its high beam headlights. This later changed to the 9005 bulb for the 2009-2014 model years. The low beam headlights used the D2S for the 2004 – 2014 model years while the fog lights used the H11.

Upgrading from factory bulbs to aftermarket LED/HID

For an easier and effective upgrade, pick direct-replacement HID and LED bulbs that produce more light compared to the original factory fitment. Some aftermarket upgrades can provide up to 80% more light. However, it’s good to remember that some brighter lights have shorter lifespans.

Aftermarket bulbs can save time on installation since they are a direct fit compared to the factory-installed units which need to be adjusted or installed with drawing wires. They are available in all sizes from small incandescent bulbs to long light tubes, different color temperatures, fixed beam patterns for free driving at night without blinding other drivers, slightly reducing headlight power will not require relays but it would help improve appearance.

It is important to know that some LED and HID lights might require a resistor or capacitor kit for the flickering issues on some vehicles. The flickering usually occurs when the voltage supplied to the headlight is not consistent, which can be caused by a number of factors such as an aftermarket stereo or additional electrical equipment being installed in the vehicle.

Installation is pretty simple, with most kits coming with clear instructions. You will likely need a Phillips head screwdriver, socket wrench and/or pliers, and wire cutters. The most challenging part of the installation is usually making sure the wires are properly connected and that no damage is done to the car’s wiring during installation.

Replacing your car’s light bulbs with more powerful aftermarket versions is a great way to improve your visibility while driving, especially at night. Not only will you see better, but you’ll also be seen better by other drivers. Aftermarket bulbs are available in a variety of different shapes, sizes, and colors, so you can find the perfect upgrade for your car.

Advantages of upgrading headlights from halogen to LED/HID technology

    1. Improve efficiency: LEDs do not require a lot of power to produce light. This means that they do not demand too much from the car’s electric circuit.
    2. Improved lifespan: LED headlights can last for as long as 15,000 hours compared to halogen lights which only last 1,000 hours.
    3. Easy installation: Installing new LED lights does not require you to modify the car’s electrical setup or purchase any ballast. It’s often a painless process that involves direct plug-ins into the existing headlight assembly.

How to choose the correct bulb size of the LED/HID lamp

    1. Consult your vehicle’s manual

If you want to determine the correct bulb size for your car lamps, it might be time to pull out your manual from the glove box. It contains all the information you need about your bulb sizes. Look for the “Bulb Replacement” section under “Car Maintenance.”

    2. Call your vehicle manufacturer

You can reach out to your car dealer or vehicle manufacturer to inquire about your bulb sizes. Remember to have your Vehicle Identification Number noted somewhere as you may be required to provide it.

    3. Look at your factory bulbs

Factory halogen bulbs normally have their sizes indicated on them. Before you discard your old bulbs, check to see what size is indicated. This will guide you on what bulb size to buy.

Why is my blinker blinking fast?

A fast-blinking blinker may be an indication of a bulb that is burnt out. It may also be an indication of a blinker relay that is faulty.

    Bulb Replacement

Today I’m going to be replacing the HID bulb on the 2012 Acura TSX I read online that you can replace these without having to remove the front bumper and the headlight but I haven’t been able to find a good option for that a lot of the people are saying to go through the fender liner and you should be able to access it but I haven’t been able to access the HID bulb from that point so I’ve come to the conclusion that I’m going to remove the front bumper and remove the headlight in order to remove the bulb I figured it’s you
